ABOUT THE BUSINESS
I am of Kerry is an online community for those who share the love and connection with the Kingdom of Kerry. To celebrate their 1 year anniversary of their Instagram page of 8,800 followers (as of May 20221), they are holding a competition for their community to create their logo.

Research
I wanted to incorporate unique things that County Kerry is known for in my design. I conducted research into this, some of these included: deer, Skellig Islands, Valentia Island, the Wild Atlantic Way, Kerry GAA, Blasket Islands.
COMPETITOR RESEARCH
I researched similar businesses that promoted tourism for inspiration. Below is a collection of some of these brands.
Logo Design
FONT
I chose the font Cambria Math. It is a traditional serif font, which I felt related to the rural landscape in Kerry. Also, there is a lot of history associated with Kerry and I believe this vintage type font represents this.
COLOUR
I used a simple colour palette of black and blue. The black colour symbolises the power of the Atlantic Ocean. The blue is a peaceful, natural primary colour representing the blue skies and sea in summer time in the county.
LOGO ELEMENTS
I decided to incorporate some of the things Kerry is most known for in the logo. I included the red deer, Wild Atlantic Way, and the Skellig Islands.

COMPETITION RESULTS
My logo design was shortlisted by the business to the final three designs. The 'I am of Kerry' followers (8,800) were asked to cast a vote for their favourite design, which would then become the brand's logo. My logo design came in 2nd place, receiving 104 votes. The winning design received 108 votes.
