PEXELS FEATURE
Pexels is a free stock image website, with over 3 million 100% free high-resolution photos for download. My edit was shared in their 'Top Edits of the Week - Feature Friday' on their Instagram page with 115,000 followers. My design was inspired by a photograph on Pexels website by photographer José Luis.
A1 POSTER
I created this A1 poster as part of a 2nd year module: Creative Image Design. My theme is the isolation of the older generation, stressing the divide between the youth and their elders. A teddy bear appears in the center foreground, the focus of the image. An elderly man is barely noticeable in the left background; helping to highlight just how easily our attention and ‘focus’ is taken away from an issue, when it’s not in our center vision. It’s only upon reading the slogan of “Time to Focus on the Elderly” that you notice the forgotten figure in the background, similar to how the youth have taken society' focus and often leave the elderly alone.
I captured a high-quality RAW photograph of the scene. I highlighted the words focus and elderly in the same red as the logo to enhance the message of the poster, and created a drop shadow effect on the type, so it appeared clearer to read. I used the Age Action logo, an organisation which helps bridge the divide between older and younger people by bringing them together, so they can learn from each other.
APPLE DIVERSITY
My design is based on Apple's fingerprint innovation for touch ID. To show how diverse and inclusive Apple's workplace is, I inserted names of countries (in their native language) as part of the fingerprint. The piece represents that people from all over the world contribute to the success of Apple, and they are all part of one Apple family.
